But the Marxists are not daunted as we step up to the plate of the historic task of building a strong and well-organized revolutionary tendency within the labor movement on a national scale. We are committed with all of our energy and unshakable confidence in our ideas and in the approaching revolutionary future of the American working class. This was the theme and the attitude that emerged at the National Congress of the Workers International League in Pittsburgh over the weekend of May 24–25 this year.
Solidarity with the Antifascist Resistance in Ukraine On Monday, 2 June, the IMT and Socialist Appeal will be supporting a launch meeting for an antifascist solidarity campaign. The campaign will be launched at a London meeting on June 2nd. The main aims of the campaign are to defend democratic rights in Ukraine, under assault by the “acting government” in Kiev; to protest Western governments’ support for the Kiev authorities and to offer our solidarity with antifascists in Ukraine suffering repression, paramilitary attacks, etc. [Facebook event] [Campaign blog]
Congress of Canadian Marxists full of Revolutionary Enthusiasm and Determination Revolutionaries from across Canada gathered in Toronto on the weekend of May 17-18 to discuss the struggle for socialism against the Canadian state. This was the 14th annual National Conference of supporters of La Riposteand Fightback, bringing together almost 60 revolutionaries from the West Coast to Quebec. Revolutionary greetings were also sent from comrades on the Prairies who, unfortunately, were not able to make the trip to Toronto. Over the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April, more than 120 Marxist activists convened in London to discuss the perspectives for revolution and the organisational tasks at hand for the Marxists in Britain.
Thousands participate in 33rd Congress of the Pakistani Section of the IMT This year the 33rd congress of The Struggle was awaited with great expectation. Over 130 in attendance at most successful IMT Winter School ever From 15th-17th November the International Marxist Tendency held the IMT Winter School 2013, hosted by UCLU Marxist Society. Over 130 attendees from across the country and the rest of northern Europe - and even the USA! - descended on UCL for the weekend to discuss why ‘Marx Was Right’ and debate the relevance of Marxism today.

Nigeria: Report of 10th Congress of the CWA (Nigerian section of IMT) The congress of the Nigerian section of the IMT was held on October 19-20, with a total of 20 comrades participating from different parts of the country. The presence of comrades from the north was a source of excitement and enthusiasm for all those present.

Meeting in London: The Russian revolution - Triumph or tragedy? On Thursday, 7pm, a joint meeting of the London Marxist societies is taking place, hosted by the SOAS Marxist society. Toronto: Crowd of 60 gather to discuss imperialism's threats in Syria An enthusiastic crowd of over 60 recently gathered at the University of Toronto for a discussion on the threat of imperialism to bomb Syria. Many students expressed an interest in this, as well as the roots of the current situation in the county. We are publishing notes of the main presentation from the discussion, outlining the historical role played by imperialism in undermining the interests of the Syrian masses, the different sides currently embroiled in the conflict, and how the revolutionary movement against the Assad regime ended up being hijacked by reactionary elements.
International Marxist Tendency World School 2013 In late July, more than 200 Marxist revolutionaries from all over the world gathered in Greece for the bi-annual Marxist summer school of the International Marxist Tendency. The fact that this year's event took place while revolutionary events were unfolding throughout the world was reflected in the interventions of all comrades who showed a high understanding of the process that we are passing through on a world scale.
Socialist Kashmir Conference The Socialist Kashmir Conference was organized by the Jammu Kashmir National Students Federation on 6th July. Speakers at the conference expressed their views that socialism is the only historical truth today which can guarantee a safe and prosperous future for humanity. Socialism is the only way forward which can put an end to the national and class oppression in Kashmir and all the sufferings of the people of the world by finishing off capitalism so that a classless and oppression free society can be built.
